How DTF works

DTF (direct-to-film) prints your artwork in full color, plus its own white layer, onto a film, coats it with a heat-activated adhesive powder, cures it, then heat-presses it onto the garment. Because the print carries its own white base, it goes bright and vivid onto anything, light or dark, cotton or poly, without pretreating the garment. It doesn’t care how many colors are in your design either; one color or fifty, same price. The finish is a thin, flexible layer with a slight surface feel that flexes with the fabric and holds up wash after wash.

Why it’s our most flexible method

DTF is behind most of what leaves our floor. We run it in-house in Los Angeles, so it’s the fastest way to get a proper, retail-quality print on a small run, a sample or a one-off, and it prints on gear that screen printing and DTG simply can’t touch.

What DTF is best for

Full-color, photographic or detailed artwork.
Any fabric: cotton, poly, blends, nylon, canvas, activewear.
Small runs, samples, one-offs, and mixed garments in a single order.
Fast turnarounds.

When to choose DTF

DTF is the most flexible method we run. If you want bold, simple artwork in big volume, screen printing is cheaper per piece. If you want the softest possible hand on a cotton fashion tee, DTG or water-based screen wins. For everything else, especially full color, mixed garments or tricky fabrics, DTF is the move.
